The big end of town v a ragtag bunch of indies in Melbourne mayoral race

Forget about the issues like the Queen Victoria Market and the Apple store. The mayoral byelection to replace Robert Doyle seems to about be the full cast of characters seeking the gig.

"Hello I have a question for the panel. Last year I was subject to a racist incident. It was on the corner of Bouverie and Grattan street. It was about 9.10am and..."

Out front of the Uni of Melbourne forum for the mayoral election, the nine candidates present shifted in their seats, their pose going from sympathy to uh-oh. Listen Guy, I’m one of those readers who’s a bit disappointed we won’t be reading about a headbutt moment in tomorrow’s news. šŸ™‚
But I digress. Anyone on Crikey’s meager payroll who can come up with,
“she shone like Persephone arising from the waves among the other candidates, who collectively had the air of a bunch of high school teachers on an away day.” deserves love and treasure like no other.
Because every now and then, when I find myself reading the pathetic dribble of Hunch on this site, I start getting the urge to shout, I’m cancelling my subscription!!!
But then you go and spoil it all with a gem like tonight’s effort.
I mean, how could anyone sum up Sally Capp any better, than …
” I took an instant dislike to her, to save time.”
    Well done that man! šŸ™‚
