Barnaby Joyce’s overshare leaves media with a choice

Now only media bosses, not journalists, can decide how to handle the Joyce affair with maturity.

There comes a difficult stage in every relationship break up when one person knows it’s over but the other person is Barnaby Joyce.

Right now Australia’s media is going through that stage of deciding if they go cold turkey and block Barnaby’s texts or flick him the odd one word answer that keeps him hanging on in case he has something juicy.

Ok, Good column and advice. I’ll add – report as BJ has requested: on matters of national importance only, eg Murray/Darling, the inland rail boondoggle, votes in Parliament. Total silence on all else, including slanging off on politicians, he may implode, but….

It started as interesting, segued into over sharing then mutated into cringe worthy to watch even by myself, it was difficult. Now it is veering into scary territory.I do feel a certain degree of sympathy for Barnaby Joyce only because he will never recover as a Political figure from this, and perhaps we need to move beyond him now. I feel very much for the women in his life, he has embarrassed them awfully. Really, it’s time to forget about him.He will not like that, but he needs to know if he won’t make the decision to stop, we have to switch the channel whenever he appears.Starting right now.
