By any measure, the Washington Post scoop revealing Donald Trump’s sleazy remarks in 2005 is a major news story. Perfect splash material for our celebrity-obsessed weekend papers. In Sydney, the Fairfax Sun-Herald put it on their front page (“Trump at his worst”) and there were four substantial reports filling pages 6 and 7. But in Murdoch’s Sunday Telegraph, the latest Trump outrage was dumped way back onto page 96 under an obtuse headline (“Don Hate Me”) but, rather appropriately, just before the “Adult Services” classifieds (“Bodyrotic”, “Cougar Town” and “Liaisons”). It seems Rupert has finally abandoned The Donald as a lost cause. — David Salter
