Brad Rowswell, media adviser to Senator Michael Ronaldson, wrote: “Military pension anger… [W]hat we promised to military superannuants has now been delivered.”

I’m yet to be convinced that his assertion is correct, but I do know that when he said “what” he meant “that which”, as any style guide will confirm.

Is it possible that knowledge of the english language is an optional extra or even not a preferred attribute when it comes to selection of Senator Michael Ronaldson’s staff?
