What Dick might do: the seven disasters that could befall the RET

Cancelling the Renewable Energy Target altogether, scrapping remaining solar credits, capping wind -- all are at stake in the federal government's review that has the energy sector nervous.

Here’s an outline of the worst possible scenarios from the Abbott government’s review of the Renewable Energy Target, led by climate “sceptic” Dick Warburton. There is a lot at stake — potentially 7GW of wind farms, up to 3GW of large scale solar, and anywhere between 2GW and 5GW of small-scale solar. Not to mention jobs. How much of each will get built will depend on technology costs, development approvals, investor interest and policy settings …

All those ex-car workers, able to use spanners and such hi-tekky stuff, in an intelligent country they would be able to move out into the community, bolting together Heath-Robinson stuff that DOES NOT NEED TO BE IMPORTED.
Oh, sorry, “in an intelligent country”.. carry on.

Warburton on ABC RN right now: “over 30,000 people have signed petition questioning the science..”.

    Oh. Fucking. Dear.

Dick is that sort of sceptic, the innumerate opinionated kind who hasn’t bothered to do his own research. Or maybe he’s happy to push a petition started by a pro-tobacco flack and pushed by the Exxon sponsored Heartland Institute, signed by vets & dentists & donald duck. Stupid old white farts will be the death of this country.

The only research they like goes as far as legitimising their prejudices – to go further could jeopardise their infallibility?

Whatever benefits the current carbon power emitters, is what they will do (maybe all of them).
SMH today article by Michael West again highlights how the subscibers in the eastern states are being scammed by eleictricity providors to pay more (and blame the Carbon Tax).
As our esteemed treasurer was having tete a’ tete at the G20 did he mention to them how the carbon tax was the cause of all the world’s economic problems. I bet he shut his mouth so as to not put his foot in it!
Maybe he raised the matter that the whole GFC was a non entity; GHUA from such men as these.
