Global warming not responsible for sea level rises? Rubbish, say scientists. A carbon tax to destroy business? Our maths shows it just hasn't happened. A hoaxer that took $300 million from Whitehaven shareholders? Nope, not even close. We're in a debunking sort of mood today ...
The Australian, January 15, citing research by the CSIRO’s Dr John Church:
Dr John Church at a media conference this morning:
“So sea level clearly is linked to climate change, it is clearly linked to increases in greenhouse gases, and that’s actually in the paper which was quoted by The Australian. So the quote is, I’m sorry, inaccurate.”
Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, speaking to Crikey today:
“What is particularly important is that sane and rational voices must respond to these questions and this scepticism, and I think that should get adequate currency. Then people can make up their minds on their own.”
What he said.
