Not lovin’ it: Maccas global sales slump

It is news to savour by those worried about obesity or with good taste. McDonald's has gone backwards in sales for the first time in nine years.

Led by Australia, the gloss has fallen right off the world’s biggest fat — sorry — fast food dealer, McDonald’s. The burger giant’s sales growth in every region of the world slumped sharply in October, the first such fall for more than nine years.

    There were five weekends in October 2011 and only four in 2012. May or may not be relevant?

    Maybe people are starting to want to eat food that tastes like food, instead of fat that tastes like salty cardboard. You would hope that 18 cooking shows a week on TV would wake up a lot of taste buds.
