Aussie CEOs have foreign experience — except in Asia

For ASX100 chiefs, experience in the US or Europe is a common ticket to leadership. But few have worked in Asia -- and none have studied there.

More than three-quarters of ASX100 CEOs have worked or studied overseas along the way to heading their current companies, a LeadingCompany analysis has found.

Of the ASX100 chiefs, 77 have worked or studied overseas, the majority in either the United Kingdom or America. One in four ASX100 chiefs have either studied or worked in the United States, while 16 have studied in the United Kingdom. Perhaps unsurprisingly, most who worked or studied overseas did so primarily in English-speaking countries.
