With just a minute to play and only 1 goal up on the Seppos, Nine switched the live coverage from the Hockeyroos to some pool nonsense – probably Australia’s greatest current fish coming second. Jeezuss.
And the commentators were saying what a wonderful effort the girls had shown – well, maybe the goalie in saving a direct free hit (which is something of a miracle), but certainly not the three short corners I saw them hit over the effing top / wide of the goal. Unforgiveable. For the uninitiated, short corners are a gift – for a hotshot team.
