As a viewer of many blogs across different viewpoints I am astounded at how puerile and nasty the comments can be on this site. Bolt is certainly not some right wing nut in any sense of the word. He has a legitimate and intelligent point of view which reflects a huge section of middle and moderate thinking Australians. Many of the comments here show an inability to see the splinter embedded and worse show a desire to play tribes rather than debate an issue as grown ups.

The hypocrisy of this thread is death defying. You fools accuse Andrew Bolt of being ‘angry’ and his supporters of being ‘angry’ and ‘abusive’ and claim that your views are the ‘moral’ side of politics, but a quick read of this thread and anyone can see that it’s full of bile, hatred and the worst kind of personal attacks. The initial cartoon is nothing but an insult of ordinary Australian’s who dare to disagree with the prevailing left wing dogma.

That Bolt’s blog has had comments shut down is a terrible blow for democracy. The reasons behind it are just simply staggering. People of the left who felt hurt or offended by people daring to disagree complained and threatened lawsuits, the government trying to give powers to an unelected body and more. If we were currently under a Coalition government and this was happening to this very website, the left would be in absolute uproar. You fools complained at even a FAKE threat to free speach under Howard, yet now when it is actually being threatened, you are OK with it simply because the threat is against conservatives and anyone who ‘dares’ actually think for themselves and use reason to justify their position (ie someone not of the left).

It is just amazing that people who disagree with Andrew Bolt claim to do so because they are ‘moral’. There is absolutely nothing ‘moral’ about Bolt’s opponents. They do absolutely anything and everything they can to shut him up, simply because they have no way of arguing back other than to spew bile and attack his supporters personally.

You people really are the lowest form of hypocrites and I hope you enjoy having a Coalition government in charge. What comes around goes around.

Therefore, Patriot, you waste your keystrokes and mental effort getting worked up and commenting. We, at least have no delusions of our own importance.

Best of luck in your saving of the world from whatever.

The equation of free speech with the capacity to leave comments on a blog which leave News Ltd open to legal action is gobsmacking. That the obverse of that position is being offended by a cartoon is hilarious!

@4Billion: To which I can add:

‘But oh, beamish nephew, beware of the day,

If your Snark be a Boolt blog! For then
You will softly and suddenly vanish away,
And never be met with again!’

Trollops does have a point, I prefer ‘free range’ loons to ‘caged’, that the loons are now outside the parameters of legal speech sets the possibilities of such parameters which can be then set by anybody with the cash/power, not unlike how Weimar developed methodologies that where then utilised by a certain bunch of bogans.
