    Leura had an Ampol, a Golden Fleece, a Mobil, a Shell and A Tiger in your tank Esso; it was located one tank away from Sydney in those days.

    Dr Mick, you’ve got me on a technicality – Stanley was the friendly attendant at Golden Fleece rather than Ampol.

    Remember the Ampol ad was the first “taste” of colour TV? Sent all the epileptics into seizures, but if you squinted, and believed enough, you could make out the red white and blue on the sign.

    DRMICK, remember also when they had those coloured strips that stuck on the black and white screens ? What were they thinking ? People that stupid ? You bet ! I reckon they sold thousands (imagine a smilie here….. moderation precaution)
