Sometimes when it’s quiet over here and nobody can be bothered to comment on the video, I like to unfold my banana chair, slap on some sunscreen, crack open a beer and chill out.
Feel free to join me. There’s one in the Esky for you too.
Cheers.
OBAMA is right the Occupy Wall Street movement is the Left’s answer to the Tea Party ( which is being financed by the Koch Brothers multi billionaires who want to get rid of any and all regulations for Banks and Corporations)
The Left has finally mobilised, without multi-billionaires funding, so in my opinion these are genuine members of the general public, and thousands if not millions more than the Tea Party movement. I have seen the placards and they say ” take back the FED” ” Tax the Rich” etc., and so I believe it is a backlash to the events that began when President Bush refunded the income tax that Multi National Corporations had paid the USA Govt. I believe this occurred around 3 months after his inauguration. Interesting that these demonstrations began on the 17th September yet we heard nothing about it in our media until a few weeks ago. Interesting too that it has received very little coverage and when there is coverage very biased coverage! However, it isn’t going to go away anytime soon.Too many Americans are suffering and homeless. What they want ( and it’s a marvellous idea) is the end of Capitalism, which according to many reputable authors and social scientists is a cancer in our society. Of course, let’s remember that Capitalism is not Democracy, it is an economic system which has proven to be inefficient and unjust for 99% of the world’s population (give or take a few percentage points) and a reversal of the Robin Hood ethos- that exists in most human hearts-i.e. take from the rich and give to the poor, is now; take from the poor & give to the rich, as much as one can get away with. This system has now reached it’s USE BY DATE and I foresee a time when it will be transformed into a new system which pursues the wellbeing of all of humanity and not just the few. I for one am rather over the First Class or Last Class mentality that perpetuates this system. It has proven to be unworkable, socially, ecologically and globally. And of course public anger will change govt or economic policy. It worked in the Arab nations, though it’s still ongoing..and it will work in the West. Ultimately both want the same thing.. FREEDOM the Arab nations from dictatorship and the West from enslavement to money caused by the current world’s financial system. My two cents worth!! BTW, Mike Jones you wouldn’t happen to have a glass of Moet in your Esky??
