A good news story today for Marieke Hardy and Kirsty Fisher with the format for their ABC series Laid being picked up by NBC in the US. With the recent success of Wilfred in the US, it’s not surprising to see that US producers have been looking toward Australian formats. The charming and funny Laid looks like a natural choice.

Laid is being developed by BermanBraun (helmed by industry veterans Lloyd ‘Serenity Now’ Braun and Gail Berman), and written by Ali Rushfield (Undeclared, Help Me Help You). While it’s a shame that, like Wilfred, the Australian talent aren’t actively involved with bringing their show to the US, Laid is seemingly in good hands.
