On tonight’s Q&A, on TV sets around the nation, the ABC published the following tweet:

@_dymaxion Just me, or does Pyne really light up when he's talking about men in uniform? #qanda

Um, what?

Did the ABC seriously just publish a homophobic gibe about Christopher Pyne? What were they thinking? That it’s funny to endorse schoolyard anti-gay taunts when the target is conservative? That Pyne deserved to be the recipient of childish name-calling (and, seriously, there are much better lines to throw at the pompous, comical buffoon in question than lowering yourself to that level), and that the ABC should be portraying being gay as an insult?

What an extraordinary decision.

(And when I had much pithier ones they could’ve chosen, too!)
