Sheesh! I’d only just stopped laughing from Saturday’s grand joke coming true,
and now there’s coffee all over the keyboard again FD!! You bastard. 🙂 🙂 🙂
This is about the sad interest of sad Victorians in their faux substitute for real football. NRL, which is the proper game, does not end in a draw. You would lose all of your teenage existential quagmire if you just followed any NRL team. Oops – nearly any NRL team.
You would be so happy, and you would be doing your usual cartoons which delight everybody not just people from Victoria.
“Oooh snacks” is a good line, but.
Someone could be excused thinking it can only happen in Australia that a dog draws the cartoon and makes it look like only dogs know what’s going on. And a meet of dogs look like The Laughter Club. Funny. 🙂
Yes, we must bravely “metaphor on”. Anyway, what’s everyone so upset about: we are now treated to two top AFL grand finals on consecutive weekends, yowser.
In the televised game, in the ad break just before they tossed the coin, there was a ripper ad for Carlton Draught: played in slow motion in a ‘Nessun Dorma’ send up, very funny.
Shoulders hunched, eyes downcast. Sobs inconsolably into his Trotter’s Ale. The mighty Tiges went down by a lousy field goal. Sob, sob, sob.
Nah, just kidding. For a minute there I conned myself that I gave a continental about rugby league. On the other hand, “Go the Students” ….. who am I kidding. Name one of them ? Jim or Bob ?
And that AFL, thing ? What’s that all about ?
Oh the Tiges, sob, sob, sob.
