Here’s a quick update for those of you waiting on a parcel of Christmas goodies from Crikey. Our elves have been madly sending out the parcels in batches over the past few weeks, and if you subscribed or renewed before  Saturday December 19, your parcel has been lodged with Australia Post. All orders from the Crikey Christmas Shop up to 3pm yesterday (calendars, cards, T-shirts etc) have also been lodged.

Many of you are reporting that your parcels are eventually arriving safe and sound, but the Australia Post shutdown last week has created a backlog of undelivered parcels, and it seems many Crikey packs are stuck in undelivered limbo right now. Unfortunately, the word this morning is that there will be more strikes across most states over the next couple of days, which isn’t great news for pre-Christmas delivery.

We’re as unhappy about this prospect as you are. While we aren’t able to do anything about Australia Post — we have come up with a small suggestion that may help you deal with a present-free Christmas Day:

We’ve put up images of all Christmas pack items on a page here — that you can print out and enclose with an IOU card for the day. Yes, we know it’s not ideal, but it’s the best we can do under the circumstances!

We’re hoping that the industrial strife will be sorted out ASAP and most of you will get your parcel before Christmas. Please shoot us an email at [email protected] if you’ve got any queries, and we’ll update you tomorrow if we know anything new.
