Crikey reader Julien Marr directed our attention to this story in which former Liberal leader, now EU diplomat, Brendan Nelson waved goodbye to his supporters with a simple “Thank You” banner.

Nelson, who officially stepped down as the Member for Bradfield last night, has long been a Crikey favourite, so it’s fitting we should hold a long overdue Crikey competition in his honour.

The task is simple. Email [email protected] with “name Brendan’s banner” in the subject field and suggest a new form of words for Brendan’s farewell roadside. The winner, yes we’ll pick one, will get a signed copy of today’s First Dog On The Moon cartoon.

To help you on your way, here’s a couple we made earlier:

So email your entries to [email protected] and we’ll announce the winner in tomorrow’s edition
