Former WA Liberal Minister and hardman Graham Kierath suffered the indignity of being ejected from Subiaco Oval on Sunday during the Dockers-St Kilda match, WA Police have confirmed. Stadium security staff caught Kierath and several mates trying to smuggle alcohol into the ground and all were ejected and questioned by police outside. One source suggested the booze in question was wine in bottles of iced tea. There’ll be no charges – bringing alcohol into a sporting venue isn’t a criminal offence (yet). Kierath lost his seat in the 2001 election, tried again in 2005 and lost, and missed preselection for the seat of Murdoch earlier this year following the death of Trevor Sprigg.

I just got a letter from Suncorp regarding my variable home loan. In anticipation of the RBA rate cut next month, they’ve independently increased my variable home loan rate by 0.2% effective 9 September. Rather than take criticism for not passing on all of next month’s anticipated RBA rate cut, they have tried to fly under the radar with a pre-emptive increase. What rubbish!

Brambles have more troubles than just Wal-Mart. Every truckie knows Bunnings have kicked them out of there supply chain and the word is the new owners of Coles will do the same.

And finally: Crikey yesterday reproduced a Canberra Times item which says condom maker Ansell has stiff competition. Childish. It’s time for new editors at both organs.
