Julia King, Director of Fairfax, Servcorp and Australian Opera has been approached to be a contender for one of the soon to be vacant Qantas Board positions.

I’m one of a number (AFR reported thousands) of NAB customers who received a letter regarding the ATM overcharging. Because my refund (with interest 83c) is under $2, the NAB have proposed that the refund be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (to in NAB’s words, not want to benefit from the overcharge). If I want the money, I can ring the bank and request a cheque — for the amount, it’s not worth it and I commend NAB on picking a charity to donate it to, however what is stopping NAB from donating it and receiving a tax benefit?

I hear that Family First WON’T be running an Extreme Green Campaign.  Apparently they did that at the last election to “cut through” but at the end of the day they don’t want to be seen as a typical aggressive/negative party because they are about Family. It seems that they got a lot of flak from their core constituency at the last election so this time around they are actually going to “compare” themselves to the good Green policies (Humanitarian, Justice, Climate Change, Renewable Energy) and then “contrast” with their negative policies ie no more dams, no new roads, Gay Marriage, 4 day working week on same pay — and maybe a few others.
