A Qantas plane traveling to Australia from Los Angeles on Thursday, 3 May had a major incident when one of the engines caught fire shortly after take-off. After closing down the engine and circling for 40 minutes to dump fuel, the plane returned safely to Los Angeles. The passenger were off-loaded and returned to Australia on Saturday rather than Friday.
