Naomi Robson has confirmed reports that she will be shooting a pilot of an afternoon talk show for the Seven Network.

It will be modelled on the Oprah Winfrey program which is shown here at 1pm weekdays on Ten. But Naomi isn’t Oprah, whatever she might think.

Seven hasn’t committed to the idea, just a pilot, and Seven sources say that a one-off trial was agreed to after Network executive chairman, Kerry Stokes, supported the idea. It is believed he thought that Seven owed Robson a pilot program for the five years she did fronting Today Tonight.

With Seven looking to launch a 9am to 10-10.30am program later this year it would be very hard pressed to justify two similar programs. Even though Nine has Mornings With Kerry Anne at 9am for two hours and the The Catch Up at 1pm.
