It’s terribly easy to get a permanent “unescorted visitor” pass to Parliament House in Canberra – an essential for any lobbyist or political fetishist. They are doled out with such glee that security have a dreadful problem keeping track of them, and if any list of who has one exists – which I doubt – it is unlikely to be up to date. Little effort is made to collect the passes once people move on to “other things”.
It would appear that Greg Smith SC, Liberal candidate for Epping in the NSW State Election, has access to the mailing list for the St Thomas More Society (for Catholic lawyers). Rather distasteful that a body affiliated with the Church (Cardinal Pell is our Patron) is being used by the Liberal Party to tout for funds.
