I am informed by a friend who works at Government House in Brisbane that Peter Beattie is scheduled to meet with the governor next Tuesday, 15 August, and word is an election is the main course.

As just about the only editor of a Murdoch-owned Australian daily newspaper not to be invited to the News Corp gabfest in Pebble Beach, California last week, is someone trying to send a message to Melvin Mansell, editor of the Adelaide Advertiser?

No mention of Trading Post result in Telstra numbers. What does Sensis have to hide?

Telstra has engaged Accenture as a lead developer in its replacement/integration of a number of key billing systems, including Flexcab. Some have suggested that they have benifitted from Sol’s prior relationship with Accenture. The decision is even stranger when you look at their history with Telstra billing systems.
Accenture is a re-badged Andersen Consulting, formerly an arm of the failed/disgraced Arthur Andersen accounting group. Anderson Consulting were the former developers of the Flexcab billing system who were removed from the project in Frank Blount’s day for being grossly ($400m) over budget and more than 12 months overtime.
