There’s an
interesting final par to Labor strategist Bruce Hawker’s piece in the Oz today on Labor’s chances. He talks about the Opposition’s response to the Budget and
how:

A strong performance will
substantially shorten the odds for Labor, especially if the public’s concern
about petrol and interest rates coincides with high anxiety about the changes
to workplace laws. The next year and a half could be very interesting indeed.

Shorten.
Geddit? But it’s interesting to note that Hawker talks about how “the
Opposition will campaign on these issues” – rather than saying “Kim Beazley”.
