The government’s anti-terror laws don’t discriminate:
One interesting little precedent is
hidden away on page 45 of the terror bills under Section 105.32,
Contacting family members etc. It reads: “In this section: family
member of a person means: (a) the person’s spouse, de facto spouse or
same-sex partner.”

So does that means the Government now
recognises same-sex relationships as equal under law – or does it only
apply to terror suspects, and not ordinary, honest, dinky-di Australians?

Parramatta to Pittwater: This is getting silly! The
latest Pittwater preselection rumour has former fed and pentecostal pants man
Ross Cameron throwing his hat into the ring.

Coalition
partners:
Friday’s NSW Liberal Party LibMail update advertises a curious new
coalition, a joint function between Anthony Roberts Lane Cove Liberals and
Australians for Constitutional Monarchy at Parliament House on November 11 with
Sir David Smith. No marks for guessing the subject matter.

Continuity
crisis:
Keep an eye on the Government’s IR advertising (not that you can miss
it) for a little blooper. In some versions of one of the 60,000 pulped brochures –
without the magic word “fairness” on the cover – appears.
