The International Cricket Council has this morning given Australia
and England permission to introduce the radical ODI trial rules ahead
of their planned
introduction from 30 July, starting with their three-match head-to-head
series early next month. This will allow for a 12th man substitution
and expanding fielding restrictions to 20 overs (from 15), including
the opening ten and two floating blocks of five overs each.
