So
who is Newspoll surveying for and asking questions about the ABC and its
current affairs shows?

Took
a call late last week and on the phone was a person from Newspoll with quite a
few questions to ask about the ABC, its independence and the performance of
various shows such as Four Corners, 7.30
Report and the news. I bet it’s linked to the review of ABC funding that
Canberra has just started and the campaign that MD Russell Balding and chairman
Donnie McDonald have been running in a couple of recent public speeches.

So if
you get a call it’s your chance to have a say about Our ABC, especially the
apparently mindless quest for ratings at time on ABC TV that’s seen the level
of Australian drama chopped in favour of cheap buy-ins from the UK.

Rip
yer nighties if you want to over the way ABC local radio is chasing popularity,
or complain about the way people are being paid too little or too much.
