The general manager of Sydney radio 2UE, Bob Miller, is believed to have been given his marching orders this morning.

Miller, who has been in the job for just 15 months, has apparently failed to lift the revenues at the beleagured station owned by Southern Cross Broadcasting. Despite talent including John Laws, Steve Price and Mike Carlton, it lost its Sydney talk radio ratings domination when its star talkback jock Alan Jones defected to rival station 2GB three years ago.

Regarded as a marketing guru who once successfully ran Toyota’s marketing in Australia, Miller has never bonded with 2UE’s on-air talent, and spent a lot of his time giving speeches, attending seminars and other external activities during his period at the station.
