43rd ALP National Conference – January 2004


The 43rd ALP National Conference is comprised of 404 delegates.

Despite the much vaunted reforms to the ALP structure, it is
still dominated by unionists and party apparatchiks. The table below,
complied by publicly available data, reveals the make up of the
conference delegates.

It is worthwhile noting that many State branches require either
directly or indirectly that people joining the Labor Party must be
union member if eligible. Thus the percentages quoted below are
conservative.
