Children’s Medical Research Institute
Sponsored page.
One in 20 children is born with a congenital abnormality or genetic disease.
Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) conducts fundamental genetic research to understand the genes important for health and development, and the underlying causes of disease.
We have four major areas of research: embryonic development and birth defects, cancer, nerve cell signalling, and gene therapy.
Our philosophy is that major advances in prevention and treatment come from research into the fundamental processes of life.
Nearly half of the funds that CMRI has been able to invest in research over the past 50 years have come from gifts left in people’s Wills.
