Bonner

House-sitter?

Marginal Liberal, 0.5% (unchanged by redistribution)

The electorate of Bonner is based in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs, extending from Mount Gravatt through Carindale and Tingalpa to Wynnum, Manly and Lota, and also takes in Moreton Island.

The seat was only created in 2004 and named after Liberal Senator Neville Bonner, the first Aboriginal to serve in the federal parliament. Liberal Ross Vasta is its first MP, but if Labor has its way he’ll have a short career. Labor’s candidate is Kerry Rea, and Bonner is at the top of their target list in Queensland.

Declared Candidates

  • Kerry Rea, Australian Labor Party
  • Vicki Stocks, Australian Democrats
  • Ross Vasta, Liberal Party
  • David Wyatt, Greens
