PATERSON

Fairly safe Liberal, 6.3% (post-redistribution).

Semi-urban/Provincial: north-eastern part of the Hunter region, including Port Stephens, Raymond Terrace and East Maitland, the Myall Lakes and Forster-Tuncurry, plus more rural northern areas around Dungog and Gloucester.

Member: Hon. Bob Baldwin (born 1955), since 2001 (first elected 1996, defeated 1998).

Labor’s hopes in Paterson have been helped by the redistribution in NSW, but the seat may just be out of range unless a strong swing is on.
