I hope Conroys legislation passes, better half a glass than none, but am not that phased if it fails either. The only real story in tv & newspapers is which goes under first, and how soon.

This is simply more of the same from a minister who has consistently presented to the House, half-baked, under thought, and poorly conceived policy in the form of time imperative legislation.

I don’t like to label people but this minister fits my category of “complete and utter moron”.

When challenged recently at Senate Estimates by Bill Heffernan (who may or may not have had a prior session of sampling the sponsors product) he demonstrated his complete lack of emotional control and judgement with his response. This legislation seems to reflect the same lack of judgment in structure and content. Clearly the policy that it reflects is positioned higher than his intellectual plane is capable of transcending.

If Thompson votes against the govt (and therefore for the opposition) won’t the Libs run for the doors to avoid accepting his vote? Therefore, the government may only need one of the reluctant three. Clever wedge..maybe?
