How dare you! What exactly are you (federally) implying?

  1. Isn’t it a shame that moots only point. I’m ready for a rollover moot, but I’d settle for a lie down and play dead moot. If moots can also sit, then we’re in for a moot parliament.

As far as drawing Therese as a greater sticknest rat goes, clearly those Queenslanders have much bigger sticks than the rest of us.

  2. MJ, a moot that could fetch would be handy. And come on walks with me in the evening. But if it could only point, there wouldn’t be much point in having a moot..

  3. When a moot points it inevitably leads to trouble.

by zut alors on Mar 11, 2013 at 2:02 pm

  4. ..and prevarication, obfuscation and dis-ingenuousness..

by Plonkoclock on Mar 11, 2013 at 2:15 pm

  5. Don’t moots live around castles?

by klewso on Mar 11, 2013 at 2:19 pm

  6. … and it’s logical Mrs Rudd’s drawn as stick-nest rat - look at her name, it’s got sticks sticking out it.

Could she be any worse than present choices, “I talk to Therese, But she won’t listen to me ….”.

  7. Another tricky question: do people’s voting intentions in state politics have papal implications?

by zut alors on Mar 11, 2013 at 2:27 pm

  8. Jasper for PM. He has more than a ghost of a chance.
And I’ve had all three of my coffees

  9. I salute your ability to not allow this stuff to drain every bit of wit and whimsy from you along with the will to trudge on. I can’t even muster a moot anymore.

  10. FD: A ‘pointing moot’ or a moot point in action?

by Venise Alstergren on Mar 11, 2013 at 3:53 pm

  11. PLONK: Your avatar has become a black square; or was this your intent?

Signed; a moot newt or a mute newt.

  12. Plonk, Ole and honourable mention. Klewso, gold star for the talk to Therese joke ! Excellente, smilie face

by Mike Jones on Mar 11, 2013 at 4:00 pm

  13. Zut, isn’t a papal somewhere between a grub and a butterfly ? Or am I confusing it with some kind of girlie smear ?

  14. Another tricky question: do people’s voting intentions in state politics have papal implications?

    Only if they’re Cardinals.

    by Steve777 on Mar 11, 2013 at 4:32 pm

  15. But Steve, a Cardinal point is nothing like a moot. And isn’t there something in the Book of the Secret Invisible Friend about having a moot in your eye?

by Plonkoclock on Mar 11, 2013 at 5:25 pm

  16. Venise, I think you need to tilt your laptop screen a little..or waggle your head like a gentleman from the sub-continent..

by Plonkoclock on Mar 11, 2013 at 5:27 pm

  17. Plonk: That’s much better. Thanks. :)

  18. MODERATOR: Give over cretin.

by Venise Alstergren on Mar 11, 2013 at 7:25 pm

  19. STEVE: What’s the difference between a crime, and a Cardinal Crime? This is not a joke. It’s just that I’ve never known what a CC is.

by Venise Alstergren on Mar 11, 2013 at 7:27 pm

  20. Venise - is it cardinal sin you’re thinking of?

by Plonkoclock on Mar 11, 2013 at 7:49 pm

  21. The colouring seems right but surely a pointing Moot should be a lot less spikey? Or pointy?

by AR on Mar 11, 2013 at 9:03 pm

  22. Venise that is enough. Don’t start insulting people who are just doing their jobs - the moderation is automated. Pull your head in.

by First Dog On The Moon on Mar 11, 2013 at 11:41 pm

  23. FIRST DOG: I’m fully aware that there is a machine doing the moderating work. It is unfortunate you think me so rude as to be insulting a person. So many years of being such an enormous fan of yours. So little consideration of the intelligent human being I am.

Now that you mention the subject of manners: What is it about me that bugs you? Not once have you ever said anything nice to me. Merely an explosion if I state something you don’t agree with.

Finally, why would you imagine that someone who has been subscribing to Crikey for five years could NOT be aware that the initial moderator is a machine?

  24. PS: You too may insert your own head in an appropriate place-of my choosing.

by Venise Alstergren on Mar 12, 2013 at 9:39 am

  25. PLONK: You don’t mean the late Cardinal Jaime Sin of the Philippines? Wasn’t that a fabulous name for a Cardinal?

Yes, you’re right, it was a cardinal sin I was thinking of.

  26. Get mooted?

by Holden Back on Mar 12, 2013 at 12:25 pm

  27. 4 Corners had a lot to say last night about what happens to moots. Yes, I accept I had to read between the lions.

by Sandshoe on Mar 12, 2013 at 1:06 pm

  28. HOLDEN: Hehehehe

by Venise Alstergren on Mar 12, 2013 at 3:22 pm

  29. As long as you’re not reading between the loins, Sandshoe…
    (Oops! May get moderated.)

  30. CYBERFYSH: Perhaps it’s the dandelions doing the reading?
