If you want to see more independant theatre in Perth for the rest of the year The Blue Room Theatre will have 14 productions, each doing a 3 week run, from April through to November.

All good Ben, but come April and the outdoor cinemas are closed and the festivals are gone, what are we left with?

I'm loving how vibrant Perth has become. So far this summer I've ben to three different outdoor cinemas showing cult classics, including the rooftop cinema in the midst of Northbridge, and am off to the International Writers Festival next week to listen to Margaret Atwood.

Thanks Ben. It just goes to show there is a vibrant and creative performing arts scene in the colonies
Even my own son's wisdomesque show, Kaput (Coming to the Adelaide Fringe and the Melbourne Comedy Festival)is experiencing great crits and sellout audiences at the Perth Festival.
Many of these shows, backed by the likes of small production houses like Strut and Fret do deserve the media's attention as they are the future of our performing arts and are a means to put on public display our up and coming talented youth of the nation.
If they are not given exposure in our own media we lose them to overseas audiences and thus deny Australian's pleasure in witnessing this ava;lanche of talent in our own midst.
