I share Seage’s concerns that Chris Jordan needs to act fast as a number of problems beset the organisation, from increasing taxpayer complaints, staff dissatisfaction with HR management, declining revenue and increased debt.

I hope that Chris Jordan will promptly address a number of outstanding taxpayer and employee matters, where taxpayers and employees have been seriously wronged and injured.

It will take a lot of gusto and fight for Chris Jordan to remain authentic. If he resists the temptation of delegating downwards what has surfaced upwards to him, he may be in with a chance.

For the journey, I recommend some spin-proof boots, lots of BS protection and some anti-shock hiking poles!

If Chris Jordan shows himself capable of correcting the previous wrongs and setting a new agenda for positive development and growth for the ATO, he will be able to overcome all obstacles.
