Hey qwerty and Merve,
I have great respect for scientists and climate scientists. But they don’t write articles on Crikey. Activists, journalists and PR people do. I’m having a poke at them.

In this case I’m recalling all the fervour of belief that the reef is doomed that went round about 3 years ago. Hey presto, a scientist publishes a report that shows they may be more resistant to future climate change than first thought.

Scientists are comfortable with uncertainty. Hacks and PR people are not.

By the way, I believe the Earth is warming due to human activity and that we should take action on it.

What’s this?
I thought all the apocolyptic messages about how we are all doomed were scientifically proven. And peer-reviewed at that.

The climate lobby would be so much more credible if it allowed the uncertainty about the impact of climate change to be part of the dialogue, rather than the shrill absolutism of a religeous cult that has passed for climate activism in the past few years.
