One of the things that persuaded me that Ramj@n was telling the truth was the corroboration by David Patch of contemporaneous complaint by her. She also has told the story many times in public before without Abbott taking against her for defamation himself. So don’t be lachrymose, the evidence will show that Ramj@n is an honest, well regarded person and, since it’s Sydney, when the jury are told that damages are ‘at large’ all they will hear is ‘large’. It’s a happy day !

@ Peter Fumberger - I think one of the points being made in the legal proceedings is that this incident has been brought up a number of times, in fact didn’t David Patch (the Returning Officer for the Student Election in question) make a public state that Ms Ramjan made an immediate complaint to him about it, minutes after it happened?

I find it sad that commenters on here don’t care about the veracity of Ramjan’s statement, all they care about is tearing Kroger a new one, because of his political leanings, and because it also had Abbott again defending the smear tactics of labor.
Personally, I think Ramjan is lying about this incident, because if there was any validity in it, it would have been brought up ages ago, but McTurdan decided that, with his anything goes in politics smear and slime tactics, this lie was perfect to increase the Abbott is a misogynist smear, and so Ramjan was brought out to make this scurrilous claim.
Something akin to women out there who were empowered by gillard’s banshee screeching in parliament. Talk about deluded people.
That harridan has taken back women’s rights in this country a couple of decades, but because of the politics, these women don’t care.
I find that very sad.

Whilst the case will not necessarily be about wheteher did or did not punch the wall it well may establish Ramja’s credibility and honesty.

This will then mean her account can be accepted and thus it can be implied that Abbott either was untruthful about his ability to recall the indident or if it is true that he cannot recall then perhaps it is beacuse he did something like it so often he couldn’t remember a particular incident.Oops no that wouldn’t work either because he said it wasn’t the sort of behaviour he indulged.

Although Joe Hockey might have a different opinion and we would have to believe boxers don’t throw punches

Just how is Jone’s statement an apology?

From my read of the article whilst he did not make the allegation/statement his guest did.

Whilsta DJ cannot necessarily control what people say he can control what goes out. He also selected the guest and one would assume he would have been aware of what his guest would say. Particularly as his guest would have been protecting Jone’s protege.

If Jones & his ratbag station don’t get pinned in this as well then it would be a travesty.

In a contest between Kroger , Abbott and Jones aagianst Ramjan I will back Ramjan any day!

I had a similar experience in my early thirties, when a male doctor threatened to punch me. We were the only two people in a hospital elevator at the time. I was a nursing supervisor, and he had just made a rather large mistake, which I said I would have to report because the patient involved was demanding something be done about it.
The whole incident was very frightening, but did not stop me from reporting the (patient) mistake. This man bullied me for the next couple of years until he left the hospital. That was 40 years ago - nothing was done about it by the powers that be, but it has stayed with me ever since.
So Barbara, go as hard as you can, and win a victory for all of us who have put up with male standover tactics at sometime in our lives.
