OK, FD. What did I tell you the last time you peeped through my venetians and just wrote stuff down ?
Very true, though. What is it with this generation ? One mention of “anarcho-syndicalists” - and they glaze over. No curiosity beyond which little dude can cook Chateaubriand the best.

Apparently if it’s not on Facebook or Youtube it’s not worth thinking about.
The minimalist decor of the Onthemoon residence is very cutting edge. Is that Kezza on the TV?

@Mike Jones - I was thinking the same thinking. You know there are laws against the installation of surveillance devices Mr Onthemoon.

The first 2 frames are as Rachael Buckley helped me when I was much younger, long before there was a black president on the telly.
The 3rd frame articulates the problem of articulating the problem, and therefore is the problem. Media talking about the media. Communicators communicating to the uncommunicative.
And frame 4 is a good summary of Sunday night’s episode, but Hayley has nicer hair.
What a nice dad you are. Or is that Ms? You both look the same.

Zut it’s Barry - Obama, that is.
If this is true she must have made you proud of her and your parenting.

Holden, thanks. I feel sheepish not recognising the Leader of the Free World and the greatest military power on earth.
Dogonauts, do yourselves a favour and read the letters about the NBN in today’s Comments, Corrections etc - very amusing.

Obviously a thinly disguised illustration of the nature of paternalistic political power. Control of the remote and consequent control of the connection between the family unit and the wider community is a source of hierarchical power and oppression the younger Onthemoon aspires to.
Sort of like when Costello aspired to the leadership but couldn’t wrest the remote away from Howard.
Or am I reading too much into it?

Zut - I particularly liked Zach King’s idea for Carolyn Whybird’s column to address Crikey’s bias.
Buzz, are you pining for a consciousness-raising workshop?

no……..FD you have wasted a perfect invitation to explain the politics of “in-laws” and “out-laws” and why it is usually, but not always, politically correct to side with your parents and not your partners…unless of course your step mother-in-law is like the columbian on modern family…then taking the outlaws side is to be expected

Another Emily joins the list.
Almost as enjoyable as “Emily and the creature” all those years ago.
Quite made my day FD.

Think you might have lost control of more than just the remote And poor old Barry (there on the telly)… “Yes we can” seems too long ago and soon the lunatics will once again be running the asylum… Bugger

FDOM captures the generational shift to the right rendered by rampant capitalism influencing us and especially US. The far right is fascist – hence, we are on a fascinating political trend. Unfortunately. I‘d rather things be left - the way they were.

I strongly believe that all families should be run strictly on democratic lines. I have told my children to remind me when they reach voting age.

Innocent Until- I think there are all sorts of conditions you could place on suffrage over and above majority : property holder, parent, media baron are just few suggestions.

I think the 2nd frame expounds the ultimate poitical trtuh - if we don’t buy the crap advertised the moguls rates fall and maybe, just perhaps, pollies might grow a spine.
Back when hippies were real people, the was a concerted “Don’t Buy New” ethos. That was then this is too late.
