Campaign Crikey morning edition — Day 13

Quote of the day:

“I think it’s unmanly and beneath a decent Aussie bloke to act this way, let alone an ex-prime minister.” — Former Labor flash-in-the-pan Mark Latham, speaking on Sky News, is convinced he knows who the Labor leaker is.

Among destabilising forces in the Labor Party Latham is right up there. But the ghost of Kevin Rudd, whether he “[got] on the blower with Laurie Oakes” or not, remains a haunting presence in this election campaign.

    We know for sure who the PIMP is - we just don’t know the Prostitute.

    I think its unAustralian to speculate about unsubstantiated rumours of this kind.
    (or is it) are we a nation of gossip mongers after all? One would think the media would buy the tops and whips we played with as kids - then they could spend all their time whipping up a spin and save us the ‘jaw dropping’ revelations that make up the daily headlines
