Kevin O’Lemon

Another hilarious ad by the Liberal Party mocking Kevin Rudd and the excitement of Kevin07. Or, as they prefer to call him, Kevin O’Lemon.

Tony Abbott was Right (well he always has been, this time more “righter”) - it was only a few days ago the “rolled gold hypocrite” was “warning” us all how much dirtier “this election campaign” was going to get, and down into the gutter, “playing the man”. Of course the implication being that it was Labor that would get grubby - then again with his “contacts”, what’s “dirty” (or funny/catchy when it comes to that?) with “absolution” so dependable and close at hand?
Funny “the media” hasn’t picked up on it?

I’m with Klewso - how on earth do the Libs get away with this hypocrisy and why is crikey giving them free air play for an election ad.

Oh - we don’t like it do we????? Rudd has proved to be a failure on so so many fronts - all talk and so little to show for it, except mailing out billions of dollars to buy voter support.

Would be interested in the comments of the Gruen Transfer on this ad and whether it achieves its purpose.

Rudd is not a lemon but Abbott is definitely a raw prawn as in “don’t come the raw prawn with me!!”

Its kind of clever…but calling it hilarious is a bit of an exaggeration….or were you being sarcastic? Its a long way to the election and my money is still on them getting back with an increased majority. All of this stuff will have been forgotten in a month or so and we’ll be onto the next distraction. Neither major party seem to have long term plans to deal with the looming energy crisis, overpopulation or climate change….the real issues and next crises after the GFC….and the Greens are little more than a protest party with no practicable solutions.

I looked for any policy in this chidish attempt at gutter humour. Alas as has been the case for the last 7 months with the Coalition, just Abbott and his Party doing what he does best, sling the s — t. The bullies are always the first to cower when confronted, Abbott’s day will come. Think back to 2007 and his late appearance at the Press Club with then Shadow Health Minister Roxen. We were given a preview that day on his preferred method of attack.

Hilarious it is not. Predictale it is. We will get the coalition’s policies prior to the next election. Then the hilarity will be evident

On behalf of all lemons, (grapefruits and limes) I protest. These delectable citrus fruits add zest and tang to all they blend with. Kevin is just a bloke who has trouble communicating. By the way lemons grapefruits and limes are now in season - go get some and and taste the tang. And apologise.

As usual the Libs miss the point. Rudd didn’t get voted in. Howard and the other stooges were voted out. Nobody thought Rudd was the answer, but they knew Howard wasn’t. Just as Stuart Ayres wasn’t voted in, the other fools were voted out.

How much more of this Rudd attack will we have to endure. I am sick of the recycled jokes with Bush/Howard/Clinton etc removed and substituted with Rudd. They’re old boys, they don’t get funnier just because you’ve changed the name.

Both parties need to start proving they give a stuff about the Australian people, because I for one, would like to see both parties annihilated and substituted with something that works.

I’m afraid we’re stuck with the one we’ve got for the time being. Speaking of old jokes recycled: have you heard that Abbott has had an arsehole transplant, but the arsehole rejected him. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Big deal. This sort of negative advertising simply preaches to the converted.

Crap ad - there is so much more scope for something very clever, memorable and hilarious - but instead its amateur hour from Marketing 101 - childish, one dimensional and as entertaining as flat, lukewarm lemonade.

Obscenity. That political commentary and campaigning for the highest office in the land has degenerated to this level. What next? Does Labour counter with a caricature of Tony Abbott in a jesters hat, flapping his ears and doing his chimpanzee walk, to then be countered with a dog turd in a party hat etc.
Play it again - this is what moral, intellectual and policy bankruptcy look like.

Great ad - Love it! Wonder if Singo had anything to do with it?

I also like the one about the RSPT with the Tasmanian Julie Collins http://www.youtube.com/TasLibs . Very funny.

can someone please point out to the Graeme who posted above that between the 2001 and 2004 elections a certain Mr Howard spent 88million on election ‘sweeteners’ to get his undying love and support. The current Labor govt has many problems but this recent wave of amnesia by the rightwing elite is somewhat staggering.
Did you know we have a massive deficit? Do you know that Hawke/Keating paid off the massive Fraser deficit? After the 91 recession there was another deficit; which Howard paid off.
    its cyclical.
Seems that only the Libs can get any traction on the debt angle however.
And thats because of the support of the advertisers on commercial radio/tv. Proves that the abc may be a bit less biased than they would have you believe

LOL! Seems the Libs have scored an own-goal with this ad. Odds on they’ll now have Gillard to contend with and she’ll give Abbott and Co a good run for their money.
