Pastor Dan on global cooling: what would Derryn Hinch do?

Here, in full, is the latest press release from Catch The Fire Ministries.

Global cooling shows divine protection restored — what would Derryn Hinch think?

Despite warnings to the contrary, another “Black Saturday” was averted through prayer and fasting, with the cooler temperatures across Victoria signalling divine restoration in that state.

Catch the Fire Ministries (CTFM) president Pastor Daniel Nalliah said following the backlash against him for stating that the bushfires signalled God had removed His protection over the state, linked to Melbourne’s abortion laws, the “global cooling” this past month showed divine protection has been restored in Victoria.

Pastor Nalliah pointed out that we have just finished the summer season 2010 with no major incidents of bushfires at all. Was this because of the State Government’s fire plan or was it because of a supernatural act of God?

Contrary to grave predictions by the Weather Bureau and the State Government of an increase in deadly bushfires, this past Summer gone has been nothing short of a spectacular miracle!,” Pastor Daniel said.

So when the Weather Bureau and the State Government warned everyone about the bushfire threat, were they lying like those who spooked the nations with the Global Warming Myth??  It seems now that there is Global Cooling!,” he said.

Well, we thank and praise God that this bushfire season has been one of the mildest in many years and literally no lives were lost. God’s merciful love in restoring His divine protection over the state of Victoria and across Australia has been in response to the corporate repentance, fasting, and prayers of His Church according to the Bible in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.

The Sunday Age recently had an article entitled, “Victoria spared the summer that could have been hell”. It was very interesting that there were no mention of all the prayers that have been going up to spare the state from bushfires,” he said.

The truth is that Australia had more rain during summer than possibly any other season, in fact, so much rainfall during summer that water restrictions were eased in some states. The nation experienced record breaking rainfall, as stated on many media outlets.

I hope that at least now the pundits, sceptics, and others will acknowledge that there is a righteous God in heaven above who looks down upon us on the earth. As the Lord God Almighty said in His Word the Bible in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14,

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

In October 2009, CTFM with Christians from many churches and denominations, dared to pray for Australia on Mount Ainslie in Canberra as well as around 30 other mountain tops, in addition to many churches, homes and parks.

We had much opposition, but we took our stand, fasting and crying unto God in repentance prayer in the city where the seat of Government is, to protect our nation from predicted bushfires and other potential disasters,” Pastor Nalliah said.

Back in October 2009 Australian Media personality Derryn Hinch from 3AW Radio in Victoria, challenged Pastor Daniel and his faith in God by saying, “Let’s see whether your God can stop the bushfires.”  Pastor Daniel responded, “We are praying to God that the bushfire season in 2010 will be very mild and that there will be no lives lost”.  “I wonder what Derryn Hinch has to say now?” Pastor Nalliah asked.

So, will the Church, the Government, the Media, and the Nation acknowledge God’s Fire Plan, or will they continue to turn their back on God and see His hand of protection removed once again? We all know that September 11 2001 in the USA, the Boxing Day 2004 Tsunami in Asia, Earthquakes in Haiti & Chile ,and many other such disasters have brought millions of people to on their knees crying out for God to save them. I pray that we will not wait for a disaster to turn back to God and ask for His protection.

We at Catch The Fire Ministries, along with many other Bible-believing God-fearing Christians who have been unceasingly praying, thank the Lord Jesus Christ with all our hearts for protecting our nation as He promised in His Word.

Australia, the one true living God has given us another chance. Will we turn back to Him? The decision is ours.”

If you believe that he stopped fires in Australia, you must believe that he caused the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile. I’d sooner not believe in such an amoral being.

If, as the good Pastor suggests, this summer’s rain is the result of his congregation praying - does that mean they are admitting liability for cyclones and widespread flooding which has seen much of Queensland declared a disaster area? Perhaps there is a distance limit on their prayer?

@Meski - Or is it because God was too busy stopping the bushfires in Melbourne he forgot to stop Haiti? I am imagining a guy in a white apron and a beard running around in a kitchen in a frenzy, like one of the Masterchef contestants. DAMN!!! I burned the crepes!!

Hmmm…interesting comments from messres Meski, Venise, DH & my China plate ..ABarker…

I am about as “irreligious” as you will ever get, but one thing I never do, is mock another person’s belief system. It’s a license I don’t have and a luxury I can’t afford.

I said I was “irreligious”, but that does n’t mean I don’t believe in a “Supreme being” who is slowly unfolding the great Cosmic Plan determined from before the foundation of the universe.

So accordingly, due to my fondness of you all and to avert a Crises at Crikey…I am stepping into the breach…right now!!!

Hmmm. Abortion laws change in Victoria = massive bushfires.
Abortion laws remain in Queensland = massive flooding.
Looks like God can’t make his mind up. Luckily he has people like Danny to do it for him.

Abortion laws are a political & spiritual football…and there is context and circumstances to every specific situation, but wholesale and unchecked…big diff.

But don’t begin it and leave it at abortion laws.

Has anyone noticed realesate industry For Sale signs lately?…more and more of these signs are now now displaying ” I AM SOLD” as opposed to the traditional “SOLD”.

This is giving animation (life ) to an inanimate object. A thing of “wood & stone” is taking on a personality and a life of it’s own.

If this is not modern day idolatry then what is?…as we are expected to continue to worship these objects of “wood & stone” in the expression of paying incomprehensible amounts of filthy lucre.

Is this not dancing around the Golden Calf all over again?

    `The nation experienced record breaking ranfall` ??
Perhaps the CTFM prayer caravan didn`t make it as far as Perth where we`ve managed less than half a ml since the beginning of December.
….or have we been excised from `The nation`?

It’s an obligation to mock another person’s belief system if it’s demonstrably crap. This Nalliah fool is doing his level best to insult everyone’s intelligence with his convoluted “logic” and deserves the same in kind. And I’d imagine a lot of true believing Christians would feel the same; Nailliah and his mob do not have the patent.

This I understand…..but it also applies to all institutionalised religions, but not necessarily ALL the people inside those institutions….I suppose.

Anyway, why go to a Synagogue, a church, a Mosque, an Ashram, Hindu or buddhist temple when you can just get yourself down prostrate or cross your legs in the Lotus position and HEAR and SEE ….it’s free.

Can’t someone please get the good pastor into the Senate alongside Steve, Iamacreationist, Fielding. They are both such great entertainment value.

Wooooo…hold the horses Hoss!…you should be judging Fielding on his policies, not his religion.

I remember studying an article in the main-stream press a few years back about some freshly formed molten rock-formation samples taken from Mt Helena in Washington State US just after the eruption.

The samples were spread over 3 main laboritories for carbon-dating, but they were not told of their origin or suspected age….one got it right and the other two came in above 20,000 years…go figure.

Each to their own, but the handful of international people who occupy the science-press throne decide what impresses upon your frontal lobal cortex.

Monotheism - an answer for everything. Feeling fearful, uncertain, threatened? Get god. Wanna justify your seemingly insignificant existence? Get god. Feel the need for change? Move to Victoria - it now has divine protection. Just make sure you get the Pastor Dan version of god (discounted for a limited time).

What a load of old cods. Jesus wept.

Boundaries please. GJ, it’s fine to be “…judging Fielding on his policies, not his religion”, but how does he create a policy position? As I watched him on Q&A the other night I recalled that this is the bloke that went to the US last year to get learned-up on the science of climate change. I would guess that Senator Fielding, in the hands of a half-smart operator, could be led to believe virtually anything, especially something ‘scientific’. The sight and sound of Senator Fielding banging on ‘knowledgably’ about a scientific subject would lead some religious people (ordinary normal ones) to think it was a miracle.

Wanna justify your seemingly insignificant existence? …shit yeah

    @Hugh MCOLL

Charlie, for what it’s worth, my view on climate change would alarm both sides of the argument.

The etymology of such would be more toward the physical universe concealing the spiritual nature of creation, leading to change and revelation..and the drum-roll of existence.

Even so, just because a politician might not share your passion for climate change as you yourself understand it, does n’t make that politician totally evil and incapable of effective policy.

As a Christian I really cringe when I hear the likes of Nalliah and Fielding in the public sphere. The vast majority of us are perfectly rational human beings who believe that we are loved by God and our response to that should be that we should love others. Encouraging ignorance in the form of creationsim or bigotry in the form of misinterpreted, mistranslated verses about homosexuality are two instances where I find it very hard to look at some of my Christian brothers and sisters and see a repsonse to the same God.

Its a shame that so many Christians who work tirelessly with the poor and dispossessed, day in day out without an expectation of thanks or recognition get tarred by the same brush as these people, simply because they put out media releases.
