Grace Grace member for ‘Queensland Central’?? Even though the name is a bit Monty Python, she’s the member for Brisbane Central.

Bill Ludwig is the ‘eminience gris’ of Labor in Qld - a scary character who has pulled the strings for too many years. Oh, for a decent alternative government.

My favourite theory about about the Qld Privatisations, something Anna could and would not support as leader of the “left”. It is quite obvious to anyone who has read Harry Potter that Anna Bligh has been hit by an Imperious curse, probably from the wand of Bill Ludwig, he who must be obeyed but never mentioned.

Wouldn’t be very surprised but I always thought that Mike Kaiser had been brought back by his faction, the AWU to sell privatisation, as he attempted to do In NSW as chief of staff to Iemma, further that Mike’s appointment was part of the deal to allow Anna to become Premier, combined with other high level consolidation by the AWU to further cement their stranglehold on the Qld ALP. What irony, if she sacrificed her “Left” beliefs to obtain power only to have the conditions imposed on her lead to her downfall. What a scriptwriter Bill Ludwig would make. Only in Queensland!

A recent trip to NSW gave me a huge fillip. Not even the government of Queensland could fuck up the electorate as badly as Labor has done in that once great state. The current Queensland premier is reasonably savvy but she is backed by a rabble of conniving also-rans and even lesser cronies. Beattie pushed all of them out of the doorway so that they couldn’t get at Anna Bligh until he wa a long way away. Please don’t start pulling strings from the back rooms.
And if Anna Bligh dumped the asset sale altogether, finessed some savage public service wages deal in a ‘balanced’ approach to troublesome unions, announced and presented new legislation for abortion reform and cancelled forever some of her worst government-backed coastal development schemes, then maybe she could stay right where she is, appeal to an untapped and neglected part of the electorate and win an election (again) in her own right.
