Stephen - seriously what’s your point? I’m not a fan of pokies either, but gambling is legal, and if Woolies didn’t own these joints someone else would. As for kids in venues, Hotels are guided by legislation.

I rarely shop in Coles, but Woolworths, almost never, and I feel like I am visiting a whorehouse when I do. I get what I want, but I need a shower afterwards.

Pretty soon Wal*Mart will be taking lessons from Woolworths.

It’s been a long time since I considered the Woolworths brand honourable. They are good at what they do, but I don’t like what they do.

Michael I agree. Woolworths should be able to rape the community no matter what the social harm as the ultimate goal for any company is “filthy buckets of money”. I don’t care if lives are destroyed and socially acceptable boundries crossed I want my “filthy buckets of money”!!
You do realise the shareholders OWN the company so if we (yes I own WOW) want to change their direction rather than sell out that’s our decision, our right even.
That doesn’t make us village idiots. Just means we’re not greedy pigs with $$$ the only thing we care about.

Coles and Woolies don’t care about morals. Have you been into any of their outlets? What do they sell right at the front of the store and takes priority for their staff to service over other people queuing to buy groceries? Tobacco.

So it should damage their brand. After discussion in various circles, I’m astounded by the lack of knowledge of their gambling interests. There’s a great knowledge of all their retail brands. I find people do care - that’s the point. So suck it up Mr. Strong - this isn’t going away. What’s the brand worth?
