Tea Party: The Documentary

So far as we can tell, this is NOT a parody. This is a real film.

After an interval of about 65 years Fascism is back in fashion. Dr. Goebbels would have been delighted with this presentation. The only thing missing were the swastikas and the regular thump of jackboots on cobblestones. The lunatic right in North America is becoming a serious threat to democratic freedom because of its gross misrepresentation of political events. The fact that Sarah Pailin is receiving so much publicity would indicate that a significant proportion of the American population need psychiatric help which they are unlikely to get. Paranoid obsession of this typewill eventually lead to some grievous confrontation when some nutcase decides to take matters into his own hands. I can only hope and pray this does not happen (and I am an atheist).

The voiceover should have finished with “.. brought to the screen by Jerry Bruckheimer”. Too corny to be true - I hope.

This confirms what I have thought for a long time: There is a large section of the American population which is completely bonkers. They have elected Ronald Reagan, George Bush snr and then little Dubya. Now it’s back to the future with a tea party. Comments televised from the “average man-in-the-street” are truly terrifying in their ignorance.

I felt really sorry for the lone black guy, I think they must have shown him four or five times. I was in DC when they marched (I live in DC, dont’ get me wrong). It was an overwhelmingly white affair.

These people are too stupid to realise they are fighting for continued government support for the rich and big business and continued neglect of the middle class and poor by the government. So stupid!

For 30 years there has been a redistribution of wealth, from everyone else to the rich.
One way to get some going the other way would be for the government to provide healthcare for the poor and others who want an alternative to the overpriced service provided through the current private health insurers.
Taxing the rich more would increase this effect.

Only thing missing was the Mad Hatter.
