"He says things Australian politicians won’t: large-scale local manufacturing is dead and workers must be retrained."

Funnily enough, Australia manufacturing is far more 'dead' than American manufacturing, as has been for much longer. They genuinely still make things in America, because they don't need to be as internationally competitive. It was only 2007 when it became apparent that it wasn't going to work.

Meanwhile, Australia only makes those things that the Government wants to fund. Anything else is either boutique or is outsourced to Asia.

I bet GOP Chairman Michael Steele was very, very quiet about NY-23.

"Bill Owens won NY-23 — beating a right-wing extremist and becoming the first non-right-wing candidate to win the district since 1871. Great job, Michael Steele; you couldn’t even hold a district that has voted for YOUR party for 138 years."

But they think they won!

Republicans dont need to " beat this up". Obama and the Dems threw everything they had, including a very dubious campaign, at trying to hold on here. Obama made several visits. Corzine on the nose?
Hey, maybe Barack figured it was like good ol' Chicago. In Virginia the Dems, got annihilated, and in Maine the homosexual lobby got a hammering.
A great day all round!
The Democrats domestic and foreign poilcy is abysmal. They have backflipped in the Middle East and the Taliban are laughing at them. So are the Iranians.
And Tim Geithner keeps reading that Keynesian textbook and digging Obama's political grave.
The American pro life movement have never been fooled. Obama is a grave risk, especially to the Unborn.
