Alarming indeed. A fortiori because of our national proclivity to roll over and show a clean tummy to, respectively, Great Britain, Uncle Sam, Indonesia and now China. In the context of judo diplomacy China sees Australia as a pushover compared to the imperial and post-imperial powers it has had 'dealings' with. It bested Murdoch, so it has form.
I have the particularly nasty feeling that Australia, more so than other capitalist democracies , is going to be the main arena of Chinese wedge politics in coming years. Especially now that the GFC has loosened old loyalties. Our mettle is going to be severely tested.
BTW, S Wong is an obvious PRC plant.

Tony, you can live on a bowl of rice and some fish-head soup each day too. Then you won't need to sell anything to the bully, hold you head up high, and sleep soundly with all those mineral wealth securely buried beneath you.
