If Robert Barnes is seriously suggesting an 8 week course is even barely adequate to train people to work in an industry that can - and does - place people's lives at risk, he needs to find another career. Advertising, perhaps, where credibility is not such an important pre-requisite. It is well known that training standards in the fitness induistry are inadequate to the point of being dangerous. And unlike the original contributor to "Tips and Rumours", I did work in the industry for many years; indeed, my partner is one of the most highly-respected people in the fitness training industry and she is also concerned about the plethora of low-quality providers. Here is a lesson Mr Barnes should learn: having a piece of paper to say you have completed a course does not make you a quality practitioner. Helping organise and justify suicide bombing? Surely the same excuse could be used by local supporters of HAMAS and Hezbollah.
