All this comes down to is the "outrage industry" that some parts of the media has become. After a while the original event which caused the outrage doesn't even matter anymore, the outrage becomes the story. But it pulls in readers and listeners, so they will try to keep it going as long as possible, hence bringing in whole new angles such as this golliwog thing. I suspect we will keep hearing about this in the news until the media finds something new to tell us to whinge about. Hungry Beast got this exactly right the other night.
