... and stimulus should be redirected to national plumbing, water saving? Only the farmers vote national party? Is that the problem?

Wasn't that Turnbull's resonating proposal too? Mmm, I know irrigation piping is not the sugar hit that Ken Henry's "go early, go hard and go household" formula demands, but it makes you wonder especially with Garnaut alarm bells now too about winding the stimulus back.

Who in Australia would not be relieved at major plumbing works for a viable future post climate change. Kevin 'science' Rudd risks being a populist failure.

In fact I would trade an NBN for irrigation plumbing most of agriculture. Telstra will probably beat alot of it with wireless anyway?

Thanks for that Bernard! A timely reminder that this water issue has fallen right off the radar while Peeny and her lot keep wedging the Coalition over the ETS.

Absolutely time we were ALL reminded that the water crisis may well be the result of climate change. - who knows? But the issue remains that action is required on the water crisis NOW, and Penny and Kev07, who were going to have no trouble at all with the State Governments, have achieved stuff - all in this crucial "today" matter.

Meantime they bang on about the stupid ETS - very skillfully bagged today in the Crikey article on the subject - and in any case they propose to do nothing antway for another two years.

Talk about fiddling while Rome burns! These people - Penny and Kev07 and Swanbag - just have no idea whatsoever about anything!
